Deleting a Service
When a service is no longer needed within your organization, you have the option to delete it, thereby releasing resources for the CCC Administrator to allocate towards new services. To proceed with the service deletion, please adhere to the following steps:
Navigate to the Crypto Services section in the top menu, and then choose Services from the left side navigation pane. This action will present a list of currently active services on CCC, including their Name, Organization, and Initialization State.
Select the service you intend to delete and press the corresponding Remove button.
In the Delete Service window that appears, follow the below-mentioned steps, depending on your specific scenario:
If you are using a password-based HSM:
a. Select a device belonging to the service from the dropdown list.
b. Provide the HSM SO password for that device.
c. Click the Delete Service button. After successful deletion, you will see a confirmation message.
If you are using a PED-based HSM:
a. Select a device belonging to the service from the dropdown list.
b. Provide the IP address of the Remote PED server for that device.
c. Provide the port of the Remote PED server.
d. Click the Delete Service button. After successful deletion, you will see a confirmation message.
If you are using an HA service:
a. In the Delete Service window that appears, select any device belonging to the HA service from the dropdown list.
b. If you are using the password device, provide the HSM SO password required for accessing the device. If you are using the PED device, supply the IP address and port details of the remote PED server for the device.
c. Click the Delete Service button. After successful deletion, you will see a confirmation message.
The secure service deletion functionality, designed to ensure an additional layer of authentication before service deletion, is enabled by default in CCC. If, for any specific requirement, you wish to deactivate this feature, please follow these instructions:
a. Locate the environment file situated within the podman or kubernetes directory.
b. Within the file, locate the flag labeled ENABLE_SAFE_SERVICE_DEL.
c. To disable the safe service deletion functionality, modify the value of the flag to N.
Please exercise caution and evaluate the potential implications before disabling this essential security measure.
The act of deleting a service entails the irreversible elimination of the partitions utilized for service provision, along with the all the objects contained within the partitions. Exercise utmost care and consideration before proceeding with this irreversible action.
